Pirn winding is an essential pre weaving operation for both handloom and power loom. Traditional method is drudgery oriented and inefficient. Traditional method results in higher labour cost. Final yarn is not uniform. Winding quality depends on the operator. RuTAG IIT Guwahati developed a pirn winding machine with locally available mild steel materials. At a single time winding of 6 bobbins can be done. Winding capacity is 60 numbers of bobbins per hour. Equipped with dual operating facility both electrically and pedal driven.
