Hank to bobbin winding is an essential pre weaving operation for handloom and textile sector. Traditional method of bobbin winding is very inefficient and time consuming. Bobbin winding machines available in the market are very costly and manufactured with casted parts. Low cost bobbin winding machines are not available in the market. Big machines are difficult to transport in hilly areas. RuTAG IIT Guwahati developed a Hank to Bobbin winding machine. 10 hanks can be loaded at a single time for yarn winding. Capacity of the machine is 10 kg per day against traditionally only 500-750 gm can be done.
